I literally had about 5 minutes to capture the Blood Moon Eclipse tonight before a thick cloud cover obscured the show in Philly. What is a Blood Moon and why am I up in the middle of the night capturing images of this event? USA Today has a nice video that explains the science behind Blood Moons. Also, I’m too tired at the moment to type it all out:
The following photos were the best of the 22 photos I managed to snap during this time. One is taken through tree branches in the backyard and the other two from the front of the house. Not my best shots, but I could see the clouds quickly covering the moon. Also, at 1:30 am in the middle of the road with my camera gear made me want to work faster.
All photos were taken with a Canon EOS Rebel T1i and a 70-200 f/4 L lens.
