A visit to Longwood Gardens annual Christmas lights extravaganza. A mild night made for a perfect opportunity to spend time in the outside gardens capturing photos of the light bedecked trees. The following is a rather comprehensive pic-spam of my visit to Longwood Garden in December. If you are in the area and have the time, I highly recommend you stop by for a visit – any time of the year.
The great outdoor tree is always a crowd pleaser.
Inside the conservatory the main display always turns heads. Tripods are not allowed in the conservatory and the light is tricky. It is always a challenge to get a well focused photo in the conservatory at night.
The outdoor fountain show dazzles in water drops and Christmas lights. Luckily, tripods are allowed around the grounds.
Illuminations outside Pierre DuPont’s home on the Longwood estate.
Yes, it is fun to run through this grove of glowing tree trunks before composing your photo.
I love the small details that go into the display.
Rather long walkway lit up with lights.
The water-lily ornament was available for purchase in the gift shop. If not, it should be.
I love the use of water lilies in this year’s Christmas light design.
Lovely wreath. Unfortunately, management frowned upon me taking it home as a souvenir.
Let us end where we began. The great outdoor tree that I took at least a dozen photos of because it is simply magical.
Happy Christmas, everyone!
