The city is busy getting ready for the Pope visit and a large amount of the action was going on along Benjamin Franklin Parkway. On a lunch hour walkabout I snapped iPhone pictures of the activities going on along the Parkway. I did get peek at the stage the Pope will use for Mass this weekend. I posted a photo of the stage above.
Slowly the Parkway is being surrounded by fencing that will be used for crowd control.
Jumbotrons are being placed along the Parkway so no one will miss out on Francis and his speech.
Trash is being recycled in many ways.
Media will be warehoused on the Parkway in matching suites.
The nuns are getting giddy during a lunchtime conference break on the Parkway.
schoolchildren artwork adorns turning signals on the Parkway.
Yay capitalism! I hope they make a million bucks off this visit.
If you see something, say something….Welcome to Philadelphia, Pope Francis!
I’m going to office camping in the secure zone starting Friday and staying through Monday. I will be posting photos and observations of this event to my Twitter, FB and Instagram account this weekend. Feel free to follow along!
