To Fly or Not to Fly

DJI has done it again.

The Mavic Air 2 has been released into the wild. The usual suspects have released their embargoed video reviews on YouTube. All quite complimentary of the shiny new quadcopter. Then again, they usually are.

New quadcopter releases always dredge up a memory of desperate pleading when I was a small girl to get my hands on a Goodyear Blimp replica that had LED lights on the side that flashed out a message. My neighbor Chet had one and I had one hella case of the envies. He said it was too complicated for me, showed me the internal wiring, and I just wanted it more. Later that year I was gifted a single lens light microscope with a set of prepared slides and my ideas of the world turned upside down. I forgot about that Blimp until years later as an adult I laid eyes on a DJI Phantom 2.

And now I’m looking with that same wonder at this new DJI Mavic Air 2 Quadcopter.

I was not one to get a Mavic Air 2 to review, as I am not on DJI’s radar. Over the past few days, I’ve watched dozens of video reviews on this new Quadcopter and found Tom’s Tech Time review to be the most detailed of them all if you find yourself intrigued by this technology.

I am just about to pull the trigger on this purchase and will let you know if I do so.
